About Ashly Jose

Ashly Jose is the founder and artistic director of St. Vitus Dance Academy. Her dance journey began at two and a half under her first guru, Saranya V. Sasidhran, who trained her in Kerala Kalamandalam-style Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi. At age six, she performed her first arangetram.

After moving to the U.S., Ashly continued her training with Kalaimamani Dr. Sinduri Jayasinghe, and later with Smt. Ragini Iyer, an accomplished dancer and disciple of Guru Rajee Narayan. Under Ragini’s guidance, Ashly completed a second arangetram and learned nattuvangam.

Today, Ashly is trained in Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, and Odissi, and continues her Kathak training under Smt. Anvita Sharma of Nrityanvita Kathak Academy (Lucknow Gharana).
She founded SVDA in 2013 at just twelve years old and has been teaching ever since.

Teaching Philosophy

“My mission is to honor the classical traditions passed down through my gurus and share the beauty, discipline, and cultural richness of Indian classical dance. I strive to create a warm and committed learning environment where students grow artistically, academically, and personally — not only as dancers but as carriers of tradition.”
